This is Cy. 

I do believe we're featuring his BSA stampede bike in in the latest issue. Its a real pile, and the dude has ridden it everywhere. This year he ran the Stampede on some turd of an 80's inline 4 bike, but fuck he made it, and i believe he even took 3rd place or something?


 Anyways, i'm convinced he had the best T-shirt on at the whole smoke out, and just minutes after I took this photo as proof of that, he came rolling back to up tell me that there's a guy who has a big dog type chopper thing with a paint job just like his shirt! I had to see it...

In reality, the paint job didn't even hold a candle to the T-shirt, but its got me thinking about my next paint job... space themed intergalactic sky scenes... wave of the future? I sure hope so.

Feb. 10, 87 CUSTOMS BY JERRY

Two weekends ago I rode out to Baltimore with Kelly to visit her brother, and we spotted this jem. Looked like it had been parked on the street in this exact spot since about Feb. 19th, 87. Customs by Jerry, gotta hit that dude up!

Color changing paint rules! I just wrapped up a little feature on painting the girlfriends bike for issue #110... dig it.

Paint

I have nothing but respect for guys who can paint. Anyone who has ever tried it themselves should know how hard it is to make it look good, especially when you're doing it in your own backyard.

While on the 2 hour ferry from Ocracoke to Cedar Island on the Revenge Run, I got to talk with Fred from Fulton Paint works... He's one of those guys who makes this backyard paint job stuff look easy, and totally  professional. He also owns a tattoo shop in Virginia and rides the piss out of his Evo sporty. Do yourself a favor and take a look at some of his stuff. From what I remember, he hasn't been at the painting thing all too long, but his skills and attention to detail would lead you to think otherwise.

I knew his stuff was pretty cool just from checking out the bikes he painted that were on the run, but until i saw his blog, I had no idea of his scope or flair. Seriously, so bad ass. I would gladly rock any one of these tanks. (all taken from his site, of course)

I repeat-- done in his backyard. Great stuff Fred!

A few weeks back, i went to this Custom Bike Show held in this huge flea market on the north side of town. Here is a taste of the range of stuff that was there...
